He probably wants to go faster and only put tones on the volume version. Tasogare Otome x Amnesia’s author does something similar (most of the magazine chapters are poorly screentoned and beta’ed and some have half of the pages at the state of rough sketching).
That can’t be it.
He also did that some chapters ago (48, 49), and those pages weren’t fixed in the volume. My guess is that he can achieve a bigger scope of shading that way (like in the double spreads), but it’s kind of random and a pain to clean.
